A fascinating exhibit is set to open at the Wellington County Museum and Archives today.
“My Story, My Tattoo” explores the art and emotion of tattoos and the people who get them.
Amy Dunlop is the curator of the exhibit, she says the idea just sort of came up
A kick-off reception is being held tonight beginning at 6:30 and the exhibit will run through March. A number of panel discussions have also been scheduled. The museum is located on Hwy 18 between Fergus and Elora.
It aims to highlight the humanity and emotion behind what some in the past have considered and “outsiders art form” and is not to be looked as as a historical documentary. Dunlop says she learned a lot about the people and their stories and gained a whole new perspective about tattoos
