Officials at Laurier University are trying to cut down on the St. Patrick’s Day partying.
In an effort to reduce the massive street party that occurs on march 17th on Ezra Street, two years ago the university condoned a large tent party on Seagram Drive.
But university officials discovered the campus became an even bigger attraction, with many high schoolers, and many from out of town.
So the tent won’t be back this year.
There will also be stepped up security, locked doors, and no St. Paddy’s Day themed items in the school book store. That includes the green t-shirt that read, “Kiss me, I’m a Golden Hawk”.
