The City of Guelph is releasing a tender for a general contractor to start renovation work at Guelph Central Train Station.
A tender was released back in 2013 but a contractor could not be found whose fees were within the $925,000 budget approved by council.
Additional funding was approved last December allowing the project to proceed.
The budget is now $2.1 million and work is expected to start in May and take just over a year to complete.
The renovation work includes improvements and upgrades to the entrances, washroom upgrades, and new ticket booths for Greyhound Canada and GO Transit.
A lunchroom for Guelph Transit drivers and a small management office will also be added.
