The Grand River Conservation Authority has closed many of its locations to visitors until further notice for safety reasons.
GRCA staff continue to assess damage and remove damaged trees and debris following last week’s ice storm.
The work is expected to take several weeks to complete.
Areas that remain closed (from the GRCA):
Most Grand River Parks, including Shade’s Mills, Elora Gorge, Elora Quarry, Laurel Creek, Pinehurst Lake, Guelph Lake, Belwood Lake and Conestogo Lake parks, as well as Luther Marsh Wildlife Management Area. Although some of these parks are generally closed for the winter season, they are still popular spots for winter walks. The cottage roads at Conestogo and Belwood Lakes are hazardous and should not be travelled at this time.
