The Elizabeth Street construction enters a new phase today.
The intersection of Elizabeth and Victoria Road will be completely closed for the next 4 weeks.
The only thing drivers will be allowed to do at the intersection, is turn right onto Elizabeth Street, from the southbound lanes of Victoria.
By the beginning of May, the intersection will be re-opened to one lane of traffic in each direction on Victoria Road.
And then by June, east bound and west bound turns will be allowed again from Victoria.
Also, this wednesday, the city is hosting an open house from 5 until 7, at the F.M. Woods Station at 29 Waterworks Place, to share information about construction on York Road.
Water and sewer pipe replacement will take place between Wyndham and Ontario Streets, starting in June.
A road closure is proposed throughout the three month construction period.
The work includes the replacement of curbs, gutters, sidewalks and on-street parking.
There will also be the addition of a multi-use path on the south side of the street, and a bike lane on the north side. York remains a two-lane road.
