Guelph Wellington Coalition Chair Magee McGuire says hospital services in the province are at a point of crisis – and the cuts need to stop. McGuire adds Ontario is 9th out of 10 provinces in per capita hospital funding and is last in nursing care per patient.
She’s hoping residents across the province share her vision and vote in a volunteer-led referendum on May 28th. The results of the vote, being held in 30-communities, will be sent to the Minister of Health.
McGuire says similar initiatives in the past have yielded positive results.
Ontarians will be asked to vote, YES or NO on whether the provincial government needs to stop the cuts to community hospitals and restore services, funding and staff to meet communities’ needs.
