Don’t be duped.
Guelph M.P.P. Liz Sandals doesn’t have a Twitter account. She doesn’t tweet. Never has.
And has no plans to start.
But someone started one for her.
A “Liz Sandals MPP” account popped up yesterday, with a “good morning, Guelph” tweet.
It later re-tweeted the premier making a school funding announcement in Hamilton, and then asked for restaurant recommendations in Guelph.
The site is a joke. It’s registered as a parody, and claims to “follow the circus” around Sandals and her liberal government. It promises fun quotes and pictures.
This morning, the account has already elicited legitimate tweets, criticizing the government’s policy with regards to service dogs in schools, and another calling for funding for a new school in Toronto.
In a prepared statement, Sandals Queen’s Park office stresses the site is not authorized, and the views expressed, are not those of the M.P.P. Sandals says her people got in touch with twitter and are trying to get the site removed.
