The city flag, flying at Guelph city hall, has been lowered to half mast, as a sign of solidarity with the people of Orlando Florida, and the l-g-b-t-q community.
Mayor cam guthrie says “our thoughts and prayers are with all who have been affected”.
He says “sadly, this weekend’s events are a reminder that hate is out there, and it reminds us we need to be vigilant in advocating for human rights for every person, every day”.
And a candlelight vigil to honour the victims of the Orlando tragedy, will be held Thursday evening in Market Square in front of City Hall. You are to gather at 8. Speeches begin at 8:30.
