Director, producer and beloved man of Hollywood, Garry Marshall has died at the age of 81. According to his publicist, he passed away from complications of pneumonia following a stroke at a hospital.
Not many people have the accolades that Garry has, and Hollywood is definitely grieving today. Take a peek at the overwhelming amounts of tweets about his death here, many of them echoing “without you , there’d be no me”. I like this one from Piers Morgan:
Garry Marshall directed, produced and starred in films and TV shows since the late 1950’s, including “I Love Lucy,” “Mork and Mindy,” “Laverne & Shirley” (starring his sister Penny Marshall) and of course “Happy Days“! He also directed 18 films, including big screen hits like “Beaches,” “Overboard,” “Runaway Bride,” “Valentine’s Day,” “Pretty Woman” and “The Princess Diaries“.
He just finished a rewrite for a Broadway-bound musical version of “Pretty Woman” which I cannot WAIT to see.
RIP Garry <3
