Guelph Police observed a man walking through a backyard of a residence near the downtown area on Friday, When police spoke to him to determine what he was doing everything appeared normal and they sent him on his way. Further investigation proved to reveal that the man had falsely identified himself to police.
The 22 year old was eventually located Saturday, a day after the incident and he was arrested for obstructing police and breaching his probation order.
Police were also notified of a theft attempt that occurred on Friday at a residence near downtown when someone marched on private property and tried to steal parts from a motorized scooter but was then startled by a visitor at the house and fled.
The man was arrested the following day in the east end of Guelph, the 36 year old was charged with attempted theft under 5000 and trespass by night.
