The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has tallied up the statistics from the Civic Long Weekend on those still not abiding by the traffic laws on area patrolled roadways and waterways.
Over the course of the four day long weekend, local OPP officers were busy ensuring that the motoring public got to their destinations safely, through visibility and enforcement.
“These long weekend initiatives are meant to serve as a reminder of our provincial driving laws. Officers are saving lives everyday by educating and enforcing these laws to keep our residents safe,” says Wellington County OPP Detachment Commander Scott Lawson.
Wellington County OPP officers issued the following Provincial Offence Notices over the course of the long weekend:
Fail to Mover Over for Emergency Vehicles: 1
Other Moving Violations: 6
Other Highway Traffic Act Charges: 18
Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act Charges: 14
Liquor Licence Act: 5
