14 road side screening tests were given drivers after 795 vehicles were pulled into the R.I.D.E lanes in Guelph on the weekend.
10 of the 14 drivers were found to be within the legal limit, but 3 drivers registered alerts. They were given 72 hour licence suspensions, and their vehicles were towed.
the other driver was spotted, trying to turn away from the R.I.D.E lanes on Gordon Street. Police stopped that vehicle, and charged a 20 year old Markham woman, who was a novice driver and not allowed to have any alcohol in her system.
Meanwhile, police also went after speeders and other driving infractions over the weekend.
In all, 75 tickets were handed out around town: 33 of them in the area of Paisley Road and Stephanie Drive.
Another 17 were bestowed on drivers on Woodlawn Road near Michener.
On Maltby road, only 2 tickets were issued, but both drivers were doing more than 40 kilometers per hour over the posted speed limit.
