The “Freedom of the City Parade” will be held in Guelph tomorrow morning at 10.
Members of the 11th Field Regiment, along with a band, flags, guns and bayonets, will parade from the Armoury to City Hall for a meeting with Mayor Cam Guthrie and Police Chief Jeff DeRuyter.
The parade then proceeds up Wyndham Street, past the Cenotaph, and then back to the Armoury.
As you may have guessed, there will be road closures.
For 150 years there has been a militia artillery unit in Guelph.
Col. John Mcrae was a member of one of those earlier units.
Guelph Gunners have served in both World Wars, and conflicts right up to and including Afghanistan.
