Turns out a cornfield in the Town of Minto had a lot more than corn growing in it.
Wellington OPP received a call from a property owner last Friday advising police that two large duffel bags of pot plants had been located in his field near County Road 4.
Officer arrived on scene and while speaking with the property owner, two males were seen running into the bush – then into an adjoining cornfield.
The suspects were not found, but with the help of the canine unit and an aerial drone, police located four separate marijuana grow plots in the field.
Approximately 300-mature plants were seized.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Wellington OPP or Crimestoppers.
