Crews from six local fire departments were on the scene of a large fire today on Highway 7 at the 7th line, northeast of Rockwood. Firefighters got the call just after 9:30AM.
Guelph Fire Chief, John Osborne says a house and a large storage shed were vacant and both structures were destroyed.
No injuries are reported – but damage is estimated at over 750-thousand dollars. Highway 7 was closed at the Erin-Eramosa Townline for a few hours as crews fought the fire. It re-opened at around 1:30PM.
The Ontario Fire Marshall will be assisting in the investigation.
No word at this time on what caused the blaze.
