Festivals and Events Ontario has announced its 2017 Achievement award winners.
Guelph was named the “mid-sized municipality of the year”.
The award recognizes municipalities that openly encourage and support, and create positive environments for festivals and events.
Collingwood won in the small municipality category; Mississauga for larger cities.
Guelph’s Hillside Festival had the best volunteer program.
Fusstoberfest, in connection with the K-W Octoberfest, was named the best new event, in the over half a million dollar category.
Named to a list of the top 100 events were of course, Hillside and Octoberfest, along with Doors Open Ontario, the Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival, the K-W Blues Festival, the St. George Applefest, and the Erin Fall Fair,
