It was a good run, but Guelph came up just short in the final round of this year’s Strongest Town Contest.
Traverse City, Michigan defeated the Royal City by four percent.
The online contest, hosted on the “Strong Towns” website and blog, pitted 16-towns and cities against each other – the winner of each round determined by votes. Along the way, Guelph defeated Brampton, Wausau Wisconsin and Lafayette Louisiana.
The contest is described as being about showcasing towns that are doing their best to have the building blocks in place to be strong towns today and in the future.
As the winner, Traverse City will receive copies of Strong Towns’ books plus a Curbside Chat hosted by the Founder and President of Strong Towns.
