Get your tasting pallets ready, John McCrae public school will be hosting Guelph’s own maple syrup festival.
Syrup in the City will take place today from 10 am to 1 pm filled with a fun day of games, food and lots of maple syrup.
Visitors can take a turn tree tapping, watch a sap boiling demonstration, try log sawing, taste test sap and syrup, along with many other activities.
One coordinator of the event Katie Gad says syrup in the city is a celebration of the natural space we have in the city but also a wonderful way for students to show leadership in their community.
The event is free but donations are gladly accepted.
