Yesterday Evening, Guelph Police were observing the area near Stone Road and Edinburgh Road South where a large gathering of car enthusiasts tend to meet ; in the Plaza across the street from Stone Road Mall. At around 9:55 that evening, Police watched three drivers leave the area at a high rate of speed and engaging in what appeared to be “street Racing activity”. One Vehicle was registered on radar at 145 kilometers per hour in the posted 80 zone. The 20 year old male driver from Guelph was charged with Speeding and Stunt Driving. This is all in part of the Guelph Police’s new “ERASE” Program. Intended to combat the dangerous street racing activity.
