Tuesday Afternoon, Oxford County OPP that were on patrol observed a vehicle leave the roadway and enter the ditch on the 35th line, at the Perth-Oxford Road in Zorra Township. The officer quickly attended the scene to check on the two male occupants, however as the officer approached both males were seen fleeing the scene on foot. After a short foot chase, the OPP canine unit, and Perth County OPP were called in to help with the investigation. It was then they noticed the vehicle had been reported as stolen. One male suspect was arrested a short distance away, while the second was not located. OPP attended the residence of the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the collision. While at the residence they located stolen property, and a female suspect at the residence was arrested. The property was firefighter bunker gear which was reported stolen from The City of Guelph. OPP later executed a warrant at the residence and recovered further property including stolen identification from a residence break in on March, 17 in Guelph. A stolen cheque book from another residence break in on March 19 in Scarborough, and a second cheque book from a vehicle break in on May 1, 2017 in Rockwood. Further stolen property was located in the vehicle involved in the collision including, various identification, a point of sale handheld device, bolt cutters, hammers, and a set of master keys used by locksmiths, power tools, cell phones and jewellery. A 25 year old Woman of Zorra Township, along with a 32 year old man of St Mary’s were arrested and charged with several theft related charges. They’ll appear in court to face their charges.
