The Provincial Government has announced that it will invest $50-Million towards Better and Faster Internet Access for Students across Ontario. Education Minister Mitzie Hunter made the announcement Monday Afternoon with Guelph MPP Liz Sandals at Westminster Woods Public School here in Guelph. The Broadband Access for All Students Initiative is a Fibre Optic Internet Provider Infrastructure, Expected to cover the entire province over the next four years. They also hope to improve Network Capacity, specifically for large amounts of Data for new classroom technologies, and achieve a speed of one megabit per second-per student. All Schools with the Upper Grand and Wellington Catholic Boards will be included in the first Wave, which will cover 182 Schools and 73,000 Students.
