Early Monday Morning, The OPP responded to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired driver on County Road 19. Police headed out to the scene and located the driver travelling westbound. When speaking with the driver it was determined he was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and tested, A 23 year old man from Woolwich township was charged with impaired driving over 80 mgs. He loses his license for 90 days, and vehicle for a week,
Saturday Night, Wellington County OPP were conducting RIDE checks on Highway 6 near Wellington Road 7, in the Guelph/Eramosa Township. Around 11 o’clock, a Ford Pickup truck entered the RIDE checkpoint, While speaking to the male driver, The officer determined the driver was under the influence, therefore a roadside screening test was conducted. The driver failed and was arrested and brought to a local OPP station for further testing, A 55 year old Guelph man has been charged with driving with over 80 in their system. he loses his license for 90-days and his vehicle was impounded for a week.
Sunday Morning, Provincial Police were monitoring Traffic on Wellington Road 109 near the fourth line in the town of Minto. The officer on scene spotted a male driving at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit, and clocked the vehicle doing 132 kilometers per hour in the 80 zone. A 61 year old Kitchener Man has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle. Both his license and vehicle were taken away for a week.
Sunday Night around 9:30pm , Wellington County OPP received a complaint regarding an act of mischief to St Mary’s Catholic School in the town of Mount Forest. Further Investigation revealed that unknown suspects used black spray paint to paint images and words on the school. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the OPP.
