Guelph Police are still withholding the name of a 46-year-old man, killed yesterday afternoon when a dump truck and car collided on Laird road.
They say members of his family still have not been notified.
The truck was forced off the road, went through the ditch and struck four other cars in a parking lot, setting them on fire.
Damage to the five vehicles was extensive, and the environmental clean-up, substantial.
Laird road wasn’t re-opened until late last night, once the Guelph Environmental Protection office had cleared the scene.
Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash and are asking witnesses to contact them.
