Last Saturday around 11:30 that night, Wellington County OPP stopped a driver for speeding on Hill Street East, in Fergus. The Officer spoke with the driver and believed he was under the influence of alcohol. A screening test was conducted on the scene where the driver resulted a fail. He was then arrested and brought to the local OPP center for further testing. A 26 year old from Centre Wellington was charged with driving with over 80 in his system. His license was suspended for 90 days and he will lose his vehicle for a week.
And the Following Day, OPP were conducting a RIDE program on the Hanlon at College Avenue.
A Driver entered the checkpoint and officers believe to identify clear signs of alcohol consumption during their conversation. The Driver then failed a roadside screening test and brought to the local OPP detachment.
A 26 year old Guelph Man was charged with over 80mgs, he also loses his driver’s licence for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
