Wading Pools in the City of Guelph will now be a part of the past. The Committee of the Whole Voted Tuesday night to get rid of the remaining three in the city. Two of those, The Exhibition and Sunny Acres Park Pools will possibly be converted into Splash Pads, with the remaining pool, at Mico Valeriote Park being taken out completely. Mayor Cam Guthrie suggested that there are other options beside splash pads, since Guelph already has 5 of them, we could also turn them into Skateboard or Bike Parks. Guthrie would also like to see Multi-Use Installations much like the pad in front of City Hall which acts like an ice rink during the winter. The Final Approval on what will replace the Wading Pools will come before council after the Public Consultation has been conducted.
