The Guelph Humane Society is moving! Well hopefully. The Humane Society has finally found a new home but a few things need to line up for them to make it happen. They’ve been at their current Wellington Street Location, next to the City’s Wastewater Treatment plant 45 years, and because the plant is expanding, they need to move. So The Humane Society has tentatively purchased a new 2.5 Acre location on Hanlon Creek Blvd. The Humane Society will appear before council later this month to ask for a minor variance that they need to build the facility, and once approved a fundraising campaign will begin. The Guelph Humane Society has been actively looking for a new home for a few years now, even stepping foot in some prospected new locations before they were deemed unusable. If all goes well on June 22 nd’s Hearing with Counsel, You could be travelling to the south end of the city to pick up your new furry friend.
