The Red Sox broke a five-game losing streak with a 16-6 win over the Guelph Royals.
Andris Rizquez led the Sox with a double and a grand-slam home run in the third inning to break the game open. Dan Jagdeo and Nic Burdett each added two hits while Ricky Murray had two hits and two RBI’s.
Marquis Kidd and Blake Kauer each had three hits for the Royals while Quinton Bent added two hits and three RBI’s while Matt Schmidt, Jake Forgrave and Darren Saunders each had two hits.
Graham Tebbit (1-0) picked up the win for Brantford, going 6.1 innings and allowing four runs on 11 hits and one walk with five strikeouts.
Tyler Vavra (0-1) took the loss while hurling only two innings, giving up four walks against one strikeout.
Brantford (3-10) remains in sixth place while Guelph (1-13) is eighth.
The Royals will take on the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs at Hasting’s Stadium Saturday Afternoon, at 2:00pm.
