A 21-year-old Guelph man faces charges including Theft and Possession of Stolen Property in connection with an incident yesterday morning at a business on Waterloo Avenue.
Guelph Police received a report of a suspicious male seen walking around a building who was not a client of the business and reportedly stole a laptop and left the building.
Officers arrested the male on Carden Street a short time later. In addition to recovering the laptop, police also found the suspect to be in possession of bank cards and documents not belonging to him.
Then, early in the evening, a male went into a store in Stone Road Mall and distracted an employee while he took a gold necklace and then left the store. It was valued at 16-hundred dollars.
Police arrested the man in the area a short time later, but the necklace was not recovered – but he was found to be in possession of suspected morphine and meth.
