The County of Wellington is opening three waste facilities today from 8AM until 6PM to allow residents to drop off flood damaged materials. The emphasis at these three sites is on “flood damaged” items. You’re asked to refrain from bringing in household garbage and recyclables today.
The applicable waste facilities include Riverstown on Sideroad 5 in Kenilworth – Harriston on Highway 23 – and the Rothsay Facility on Wellington Road 7 in the Township of Mapleton. Regular waste fees will apply and receipts will be given to all customers.
Harriston experienced its worst flood in over 60-years with some areas in the Maitland Valley receiving well over 100 millimeters of rain early Friday.
