The intensity will be ramped up a bit tomorrow night at Grand River Raceway.
Thirty of the toughest wiener dogs in the province will be lining up on the dirt track for a chance at racing glory.
The Raceway’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Kelly Spencer says people from across the province visit the track to see the entire Wiener Dog Racing spectacle.
Last year’s champion wiener was “Tank”. He’s a three year-old, 14-pound specimen owned by Guelph harness racing driver, James MacDonald.
The horse races get underway at 6:30 pm, with the three qualifying heats of wiener dog races starting at 8:00 pm.
The champion wiener will be crowned following the final at 8:45 pm.
