A Staff report from the City of Guelph suggests making the Wilson Street Parkade bigger than originally planned to save money in the long run.
The report says that by adding 194-parking spaces to the once planned 496, the city would save money by eliminating the need to expand the Neeve Street parking lot.
The parkade was budgeted to cost around 12 million dollars with construction set to begin last December before being delayed. The new price tag would exceed 20 million dollars.
If approved by council, construction on the parking structure would begin early next year and is expected to be completed halfway through 2019.
Council will vote on the matter on July 17th.
