Guelph MPP Liz Sandals made a massive announcement today regarding infrastructure work on the Hanlon.
Sandals says the Province of Ontario will be working to increase the safety, improve traffic flow, and reduce congestion on Highway 6 by upgrading the Hanlon Expressway into a full-fledged Freeway from Maltby Road northbound to the Speed River.
The Province hopes to do so by making new over pass interchanges at the Kortright and Stone Road intersections, much like the one located at Laird Road, replacing the intersection at College Avenue with a bridge, and adding a new municipal service road west of Highway 6 between Woodland Glen Drive and the new upcoming Stone Road intersection.
The design is anticipated to take two years to complete and there is no word on the cost of the total project.
No word at this time on a timeline for construction.
