It’s being a touted as a new state of the art hub that will bring around a thousand employees together in one facility.
In a media release from the City of Guelph, it says the Co-operators will be leaving the downtown and moving into a new complex in the city’s south end. The Guelph-based insurance and financial services company had been working with the city to secure a site for its new headquarters.
The move comes in anticipation of the expiration of its two leases on Macdonell Street, and one on Scottsdale Drive. The three offices will be brought together under one roof.
Construction is expected to begin late next year and be completed for 2023.
No word at this time on the exact location of the facility.
Mayor Cam Guthrie says its excellent news and that the Co-operators will continue to provide good jobs and make other important contributions to the community.
