A resident of Oakville has been arrest following an employment scam.
Last Wednesday, Halton Regional Police received a complain regarding the attempted scam from a few years ago in 2014, where the accused 51 year old Oakville man became acquainted with the victim through a religious group.
During their contact the suspect claimed that he was a member of the Toronto Police Service and that for an exchange of money, the accused would be able to secure the victim employment with the Force.
After money had been exchanged the accused then found various excuses for the delays and lack of job offers. Officers believe the man has tried this scam with several other people, this time promising a job opportunity with Ford Canada.
Police would like anyone who may have been a victim of this scam to come forward and are reminded to never exchange money for any opportunities.
The 51 year old Oakville man has been charged with Fraud over $5,000 and Impersonating a Peace Officer
