Two men were arrested by Guelph Police after they confiscated replica hand guns from them in the downtown core yesterday afternoon.
The officers tried to speak with the men when they were exiting a Macdonell building but the two hopped on their bicycles and fled the area.
A short chase by officers, who happened to be patrolling the area on their bikes, ended in the arrest of the first suspect, an 18 year old. The young man was found to be in possession of a replica hand gun which in fact was a pellet gun. He was also found with a taser gun and what is believed to be crystal meth in his possession.
The second suspect was arrested a short time later. The 29 year old was also in possession of a replica hand gun (a pellet gun).
Both men were charged and held for a bail hearing scheduled for today (July 28th).
