A more private option for abortion is available, for free, starting tomorrow (August 10).
The pill which has been available for quite some time at an expense to the user (sometimes costing over $400 dollars) will now be given free through a prescription by your health care provider.
Mifegymiso is an alternative to surgical abortion and can terminate pregnancies in an early stage, up to 7 weeks.
Currently the provinces of New Brunswick and Alberta cover the pill and the Quebec government is hoping to do so very soon.
Anyone resident of Ontario, with a valid health card, will be able to access this pill through participating pharmacies.
