Guelph Mayor Cam Guthrie says he has no plans to run in the upcoming provincial election.
Cam Guthrie took to his website Tuesday to address rumours that claim he is seeking the PC Party nomination for the Guelph riding.
In a statement, Guthrie simply wrote, “not happening.”
“I love this city. I love being your Mayor,” Guthrie said. “I was focused on Guelph yesterday, I’m focused on Guelph today. I’ll be focused on Guelph tomorrow as your Mayor.”
The Guelph Conservative Riding Association has not yet announced any plans for a nomination meeting or who their candidates are.
Liberal MPP Liz Sandals has held the seat since 2003, but has not made her plans known for next year’s general election.
