A 12 year old boy is in life threatening condition following a collision in Cambridge Wednesday morning.
Waterloo Regional Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Hespeler Road and Can-Amera Parkway just before 10:00 a.m. when the boy, who was riding his bicycle across the street, was struck by a turning flatbed truck.
“He has been airlifted to hospital by air ambulance, but right now there is concern that they are life-threatening injuries,” said Staff Sgt. Mike Hinsperger, who added the boy was wearing a helmet.
Hinsperger said the investigation is in its early stages and it’s not known if the driver of the flatbed will face any charges.
“Any witnesses that may have saw the collision, we encourage them to call in,” he said.
Can-Amera Parkway was closed for most of the afternoon.
