A man holding a syringe threatened employees at a west end pharmacy yesterday.
Guelph Police were called to the incident around 11:30am Wednesday morning.
The man went into the pharmacy demanding drugs and threatened to hurt staff with the syringe he had in his hand.
Officers tried to diffuse the situation and get the man to surrender but he refused. A conducted energy weapon (C.E.W. aka taser gun) was used to take the man into custody.
Arrested was a 28 year old man, of no fixed address, who was also wanted on three outstanding warrants. The man, whose identity was not released, is facing a number of charges including robbery, weapons dangerous and for uttering threats.
