Provincial Police are confirming that the human remains found near london are in fact those of 48- year old Douglas Hill of Brantford, who went missing from the Six Nation on the Grand River in June.
The remains were found last week on the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation near London and a post mortem held on Friday identified Douglas Hill as the victim.
Four People have been charged in Hill’s death since his disappearance ; including a 17 year old girl with second degree murder.
Police have also charged three other people with being accessories after the fact of murder ; a 35 year old woman and 24 year old woman alongside a 34 year old man.
Chief Glenn Lickers of the Six Nations Police Service issued this statement :
“I would like to personally thank all of the citizens that provided information to investigators to bring this incident to a successful conclusion. We located Douglas Hill and it is my hopes that th is will bring some resolution to his family. I would also like to thank all the officers from the Six Nations Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police and Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police Service for their continued support and cooperation throughout this process.”
