Waterloo Regional Police are investigating more cases of dismembered animals that are being discovered in the northwest area of Kitchener.
The discoveries go back to June when two dead cats were found in the Lancaster Street area. In July, another dismembered cat was found near Wolfes Court and Carson Drive. Earlier this month, another was found in the area of Champlain Drive and Carson Drive.
Police said other remains have been found in the area of Carson Drive and investigators are trying to confirm what type of animal the remains belong to.
The Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society is also involved in the investigation and are working to determine what happened to the animals.
The public is be urged to call police immediately if they discover animal parts or see anything suspicious.
Police are also reminding people to keep an eye on their pets.
