Four days of good food and entertainment kicks off on Thursday at Riverside Park as the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Guelph Ribfest.
Organizers this year have partnered with the promoters of the ONtour concert series in celebration of Ontario’s 150th anniversary.
That free concert Thursday night will feature The Headstones, Coleman Hell, The Beaches, and Ginger Ale and The Monowhales.
“The province said we’d like to partner with you and we said sure,” said Rance Willis of the Rotary Club of Guelph-Trillium. “And as luck would have it, we have our 20th anniversary as well.”
The concert gets underway at 6:00 p.m. and is for all ages. There will also be bands performing throughout the weekend, including tribute bands for The Rolling Stones, The Tragically Hip, and Fleetwood Mac.
The midway is returning this year and is much larger than years past. It will open Friday. Willis said they actually had to increase the footprint of it.
This weekend will also feature the Gregg Mitchell Memorial Classic Car Show on Saturday and Sunday. It’s a show that regularly attracts more than 300 vehicles, according to organizers.
