One of the biggest drug seizures in the OPP’s history has been made.
An internal investigation into a cocaine smuggling ring has lead to the arrest of three Toronto area men.
The investigation dubbed ‘Project Hope’ was conducted in conjunction with the Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.
Police allege the men imported more than 1,000 kilograms of pure cocaine into Canada from Argentina using a Montreal port.
The three men charged, who have not been identified, are facing drug importing and trafficking charges.
The announcement by the OPP was made this morning at a press conference in Orillia.
