The Guelph Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at a downtown residential building.
Crews were called to 40 Northumberland St. just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and were quickly able to bring the flames under control.
“The top floor of the building was evacuated by firefighting crews and then staged in a city bus,” Guelph police said in a media release.
No injuries are being reported.
The cause of the fire along with an estimate of the damage is still under investigation.
