The second round of negotiations for a revamped North American Free Trade Agreement kick off today in Mexico.
Round one took place in Washington last month.
Discussions yesterday between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Donald Trump saw both leaders in agreement that they’d like to have the NAFTA agreement revamped by the end of this year.
Mexico seems to think there needs to be a ‘Plan B’ in place should Trump pull the U.S. out of the agreement.
Ottawa announced, late yesterday, that a 10 person NAFTA environmental advisory council would be created in order to strengthen environmental protection within the new pact.
