Planet Earth

Posted By: Jennifer Cornwall · 4/23/2013 9:25:00 AM

This week we celebrated Earth Day, and while I recognized it, and consciously did some things to help (turned off the tap, helped plant a tree, walked instead of drove to run some errands...), its something that should be recognized more than just once a year. Sometimes you might think, becuase I think it too, what is the point? What difference is one day of not using a lot of water, or recycling going to do? People have tried to get us to act this way for ages, and theres still global wamrning, and all that jazz. Well who knows. I sure don't, but I still wish I could be more responsible when it comes to helping the planet. Its our planet, its a gift, and its non-returnable. There is no gift reciept here people. People take so much for granted in this life- time, people, love, trust... Nothing is ...

Blue Jays

Hooray!!!! Finally Blue Jays baseball is back!! It has been a long and wicked winter without the bluebirds :P Even without all the snow. But I suppose we're paying for it with this bizarre spring. Or lack thereof. Maybe baseball will warm it up, even if it is psychological. ;) Spring is time for fresh beginnings, new adventures, and positive changes... and of course more baseball. Embrace it all.

Celebrate Her Life

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil, For You are with me, Your Rod and Your Staff give me courage." Psalm 23.4

What a sad thing, the death of Constable Jennifer Kovach.

Who am I to grieve, for Constable Kovach? I did not know her. I’ve met her mother once or twice at events, and I know several Guelph Police officers, but I did not know Constable Kovach. Yet, I still grieve, with so many others who may or may not have known her, either. Perhaps it is exceptionally hard, due to the tragic way she died, and the fact she was serving, us, me, the public, when she did pass. Perhaps it is because she was so young at 26 and new in her career, and had so much life to live. Even though I did not know her, seeing ...

It has been so sad to hear about the loss of Guelph Police Constable Jennifer Kovach this morning. She was 26 and died in the line of duty. My thoughts are with her family, and our friends at the Guelph Police Service. May you all find comfort in the memories you share.

Target

Target is opening a few stores tomorrow, as part of a "soft"opening. Not the big grand opening slated for next month. The stores opening tomorrow in this area include the Guelph store on Stone Road, the one in Fergus, and one in Milton. While I am excited to try out these new stores, I have a funny feeling I won't be going tomorrow. I imagine its going to be CRAZY busy... which I guess is good for the store! :P I've heard a lot that the store itself won't be like the stores in the states when it comes to prices and such. I supposed that should be expected too, really. In any case, its always nice to check out something new anyway. But as for trekking down there tomorrow...? Maybe I'll just drive by and see how the parking is first. ;)
